Guadalupe River Pavilion
Seguin, Texas
This project was an addition of a covered patio pavilion to an existing house on the Guadalupe River in Seguin, Texas. The pavilion is positioned high on a bluff overlooking the river. It is nestled into the property to have a seamless flow from the existing house back porch, to the new pavilion, to the boat deck below. The roof of the pavilion is an extension of the existing porch, creating a modern butterfly roof profile, that adds a contemporary style to the modest existing home. Exposed framing and structural connections add a level of modern details to the new structure.
The pavilion was created for entertaining family and friends and taking in the views of the beautiful Guadalupe River. The structure was placed as close to the edge of the bluff as possible, with sleek open cable railings to keep the river views unobstructed. The pavilion was designed with a built-in bar area, outdoor kitchen and grill, outdoor TV, and fireplace.
